Kanoo Travel Dubai, the first IATA member travel agency in the GCC, has organized a 'Wear Pink to Work' event to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The initiative, led by General Manager Aubrey Heldt, invited employees to wear pink to work, a symbolic gesture to celebrate survivors' resilience and empathy.
The event included distributing pink ribbons, decorating the office with pink decorations, and providing pink-themed cake and doughnuts. Informational materials were shared, emphasizing the importance of early detection and free clinical breast examinations and mammogram screenings.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month, celebrated every October, is a pivotal annual campaign dedicated to shedding light on the prevalence and impact of breast cancer. With more than 2.3 million new cases reported annually, breast cancer is the most common cancer worldwide. Alarmingly, in 95% of countries, breast cancer ranks as the leading or second-leading cause of female cancer-related fatalities. A salient fact that cannot be overlooked is that being female is the most pronounced risk factor for breast cancer.
Aubrey Heldt, the General Manager of Kanoo Travel Dubai, remarked, "Our 'Wear Pink to Work' Day and associated activities were an endeavor to join the global community in the fight against breast cancer. By raising awareness and promoting early detection, we can save lives and support those impacted by this disease. Our team's dedication and participation testify to our commitment to social responsibility."
Kanoo Travel Dubai continues to champion social causes and engage with the community, aiming to spread awareness and encourage proactive health measures.
