Annual Strategic Forum

Hailed as one of the largest travel company in the entire region and recently as the topnotch Power List for 2013 featured in Arabian Travel News Magazine, Kanoo Travel through its leaders conducted this year's Strategic Forum in an initiative to sustain excellence for 2014 and beyond. The forum was held on 1st March 2014 at Grand Hyatt Hotel - Dubai, UAE.

Senior representatives of the group namely: Mr. Maurice Ghattas (Group Chief Executive Officer, YBA Kanoo Group of Companies), Mr. Sunil D'souza (General Manager - Kanoo Travel, UAE / OMAN / QATAR / AFGHANISTAN / IRAQ), Mr. Praveen Gandhi (Executive General Manager - Travel at YBA Kanoo Group), Mr. P. S Ganapathi (Director/Chief Financial Officer of The Kanoo Group) and Mr. Aubrey Heldt (Regional Operations Manager, Kanoo Travel - UAE, Oman, Qatar, Iraq and Afghanistan) together with senior guest from travel partner, Air Berlin, Mr. Nishad Gadhavi (Regional Manager - UAE & India) graced the forum and shared insights about the travel industry and the number of strategies taken in the course of past years to become an award-winning business travel center and also discussed some of its biggest successes and challenges.

Leaders and team members from Kanoo Travel (Sharjah, AMEX Leisure, Emerging Markets, DynCorp and Marine Lukoil), KCCC, JAFZA and AUH participated in the annual forum.

Specific topics were also discussed by brilliant speakers from various teams. "Transcending Limits – Travel Legacy" by Mr. Nayeem Syed, "Queue Management, ADM Reductions – New Approaches" by Mr. Shaukat Parkar ", "Cost Control / Savings – Thrift Management" by Ms. Rama Umashankar, "Central Ticketing / Yield Improvement – Dirham Sense" by Mr. Mehnaz Pasha Begum, "Challenges in Travel Business – Retention & Customer Delight", among other subject matters.

The Kanoo Travel Annual Strategy Forum concluded with a Question and Answer portion from the audience and a closing remarks delivered by Mr. Sunil D'souza.

The event was undoubtedly one of the most important meetings in the travel department that addresses key industry matters in order to continuously provide a level of service to their top business travel accounts and executives not offered anywhere else. It also tackled ways to strengthen and to develop client relationship which is critical for client retention.

To instill the spirit of camaraderie, team building activities were also organized in between lectures as ice breakers. The most entertaining and amusing one was the 'Balloon game' wherein under time pressure, each one in the team will have to inflate as many balloons and decorate them as a standee using scotch tapes only. Team KCCC won the most creative idea and received an award token.
